cameron's nursery art...REVISED! c is no longer for cameron or castle...or crab! why?! because my step-mom had the wrong bedding...oops;) there is no crab or castle in the bedding (as i got the frantic phone call the other night to "stop the painting...there is no crab in this bedding!) but...there is an owl. so i thought it would be cute to have the owl in the tree watching over little cameron as he read's his abc's and 123's underneath the tree! and of course...a little birdy is keeping a close eye on him as well...;)
i actually like this soon-to-be painting better than the castele and crab one...not a big fan of the beach anyway;)
oh...and i have no photo to post of the bedding because it has become known as the "mystery bedding" be it that we can't seem to locate it anywhere. hmmm...
but...i know there's an owl in it and that's enoughh for me!

C is for Cameron...

and Crab and Castle! this is my next piece in the works...another custom nursery art piece to match My First ABC'S bedding by kidlsine my step-mom's nephew and his wife just welcomed a baby boy named cameron to their family. so, she wanted me to do a custom piece to match the bedding that had cameron's name on it (i also did carter's giraffe for her niece this past week).
i look forward to doing this one for baby cameron as well:)

carter's giraffe

FINALLY the baby was born...a little late. but better late than never;) his name is carter and here is his own personalized little piece of artwork. alexis and mark chose cocalo bedding in the pattern jungle jingle (see photo below) but there is no giraffe in it. SO...lucky for me...i got to design one to coordinate with it:) i am framing it in a white wood frame and am ready to turn it over this weekend. hope they love it!!!
welcome to the world little carter!!!

happily ever after...christy and brian!

this is what i worked on this weekend...a recreation of my piece "happily ever after" for my friend christy and her husband brian. the wedding was this past saturday and i was so incredibly bummed out that i couldn't attend due to my shoulder/neck injury:( i really wanted to go!!! so i had to do something extra-special and i am so happy with the way this turned out:) the dress and veil is spot-on to christy's and i threw in an extra touch of cuteness for brian with the bow tie as opposed to the regular one he wore;) the clover green of the background is homage to the maid-of-honor's dress color. i am SUPER excited to give this to them!!! all i have left to do is cut a mat and put their names and wedding date on it, then frame it and wrap it! i hope they love it!!!
by the way, prints of the original "happily ever after" are sold in my etsy shop:)

ellen's custom angel

i've been crazy busy filling custom order this last week...even with a pinched nerve which shoots right down my drawing arm:( but still, the show must go on! i love painting these little angels and the boy ones are actually my favorite. this was for a sweet little baby girl named ellen and i loved every second of custom creating this for her!
next up is putting the letters on the giraffe posted below (we finally found out the name of the baby "carter")...

this week's illustration friday~"satellite" 6/25/10

this is my illustration entitled "alistair and the spy glass" and i thought it fit this week's i.f. theme of "satellite" perfectly. this is my FAVORITE piece to date! i love how little alistair has his little pet turtle apollo at his side as he spies all the wonders of the universe with his little red spy glass! this piece just makes me happy:) one day i would love to be able to base a whole book around this little character and his pet turtle...and his spy glass, of course...;)
prints of this are for sale in my etsy shop:
