Happy Fall!!!

celebrating my second favorite season (winter being the first, of course-snow lover here....) by having a SALE on EVERYTHING in my shop. prints, compact mirrors, original paintings and drawings are all included in that 20% off. why not do a little early Christmas (yay!!!) shopping now?! from a girl who is always ahead of the game, Christmas shopping in late September sounds very appealing....but then again shopping always sounds appealing to me. ;)

this little fire starter....

i thought it might be fun to take on the four elements (in between commissions), so i began with a self-portrait of sorts...the true definition of a fire sign.

meet serafina, the goddess of fire. PRINTS (AND SUCH) can be found through the shop links here. also, the ORIGINAL PAINTING is FOR SALE. contact me if interested and please place the word SERAFINA in the subject line so i don't mistake it for spam/junk mail.

i'm hoping to get to the remaining elements (air, water and earth) SOON! :) currently working on a couple commissions....

those who know me personally....

know that this little sketch needs NO explanation!

{and for those who don't, well i think it's pretty self explanatory.}

football is BACK....but more importantly than that, PEYTON IS BACK...and that makes for a very happy girl, right here!!!

i have followed this man from his rookie days with the Colts (their loss) to his days with the Broncos (thank you, John Elway for the most wonderful addition your team). classy. humble. respectable. incredibly talented and just an all around awesome guy...and quarterback.

ironically we turned out to to have some unfortunate circumstances in multiple neck surgeries/fusions which if you know anything about the cervical spine, well it certainly affects the use of your arm(s)/hand(s). to still be able to grasp a football and play as eloquently as he does, well that is nothing short of miraculous to me. i feel his pain everyday (literally) as holding a pencil/paintbrush has become somewhat of a challenge on some days...but as peyton says, "these nerves have a mind of their own." they surely do. however, i use that pain to fuel my passion even more. so...take THAT nerve pain! ;)

wishing peyton (and the broncos) a great season and may today be the first day on the journey to the Super Bowl...WIN!

peyton, you are my hero!

i don't usually post full sketches until after my paintings are done, especially commissions....but because this was a request from the wonderful woman/mother who commissioned me in the first place, well i couldn't say no. :)

7/8 years ago i taught a really sweet little girl who was adopted into the arms of a really great lady. she reached out to me wanting a painting based on the illustrations in the beautiful book entitled, Motherbridge of Love...a custom painting (in my style) to represent the merging of cultures, ethnicities and, of course, the unconditional love that will forever envelop that very special little girl (who is not quite so little anymore-6th grade already?!) for a lifetime to come.

it's always a pleasure to take on any commission as i am always humbled and appreciative for the opportunity to have someone trust in my creative visions. to me, there is no greater compliment.

a little late with this one....

but better late than never, right? :)

this little beauty goes by the name, Camillia  and is the the final drawing in my series of 3 flower/summer girls.

with today being september 1st already (and i'm perfectly ok with that-c'mon football and PEYTON and fall, of course) well, i'm kinda late with this little lady but it's been a busy august and she's been done for quite a while actually....just forgot to post her. so....

better late than never! :)

Camillia (along with her lovely little companions, Flora and Blossom) is/are FOR SALE as the ORIGINAL DRAWING(S) in my etsy shop. i also have a trio of winter girls listed for sale here...of course being the snow bunny i am, these three are my personal favorites. either way, hop on over to my shop and have a look. if you'd like to purchase the trio of either the summer/winter girls, please send me a convo through etsy and we can work out a happy price for all three beauties.

{did i mention i'm super stoked for FALL, FOOTBALL and PEYTON?! :)}
