New site, new logo, NEW LOOK.....

Well, in case you haven't seen the NEW LOOK of my brand, "the enchanted easel", here it is!!

I was going to wait until January...new year, new start, new opportunities and all that good stuff, but me being the go getter, always ahead of my own goals kinda gal...here we are 4 days until the end of 2018 and I'm proud to introduce the new look for my brand.

Why the change from whimsical, big eyed girls and animals to dreamy, magical floral gardens? It just felt right. It just feels right. The beginning of 2018 was spent doing back to back commissions of the "older works" as I like to refer to them as now. All the time while painting those (which I still adore), I had these florals, these visions of these gardens in my head that just wouldn't. leave. me. alone. I mean, sleeping was not happening. I was dreaming them and would have to get out of bed and attempt something to get it out my head and onto the canvas. But, to no avail. I felt like I couldn't give those "visions" the attention they so rightfully deserved while painting the "older works".

If you know me personally, you know I am not a multitasker. I just don't do it well. I like to really dive in to one thing and do it so well that I can't do anything else. And, I like it that way. I am 110% full of fire and full of passion. Hey, I am a Leo after all.♌ We breathe fire. And right now, my passion and fire lies within these gardens. Full of abstract blooms and beautiful blossoms. I spent the latter half of this year painting nothing but them and I fell madly in love along the way.

I am so excited for the new opportunities that await me in 2019, Lord willing. I believe nothing comes for free and hard work will eventually pay off. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but it will.

I sure hope you love these gardens as much as I do and that you'll welcome the new brand as kindly as you did the "older works". Thank you to all of my friends and supporters over the last ten years of building this brand. There really are no words to convey my gratefulness.

HOLLY'S GARDENS~a four piece collection inspired by my infinite love for the month of December, winter and my grand-pop. 

He was my world and we used to love watching the cardinals in the snow as well as always marveling at the beauty of snow covered holly berries. The contrast of the rich crimsons so striking against the pure white snow.

He loved red, winter, cardinals and so much more. A sculptor, a painter, a baker...a true artist in every sense of the word. My inspiration each and every day.

Just wanted to say, I'm completely obsessed with this color palette and garden.

Soft yellows, pinks, blues and grays give this garden an almost "shabby chic" type of feel...and I'm loving it!! Although my studio and I do enjoy having sweet Caroline around on a daily basis, we sure wouldn't mind if she wanted to bloom elsewhere...

Sweet salmon pinks, warm cheery corals and rich purples and plums make this garden a pretty little addition to your special girl's happy space.🎀

I truly am enjoying watching these various color palettes bloom into these whimsical gardens...straight from my imagination and right onto the canvas.

I've also been blessed to receive a few commissions these past couple of weeks based on this new series. It's always a nerve wrecking experience as an artist when you put out a new body of work. Thankfully, these gardens seem to be well received and I am forever grateful.

Opulent teals and dreamy cerulean blues make the perfect background for the contrasting warm coral and apricot blooms.

This is one of my favorites, as I am a a bit of a fanatic for the contrasting color palette of teals and corals.

I love this color palette. Quite possible to become a signature one at that. Tropical pinks, warm oranges, sunny yellows and sweet salmons are definitely my jam!!

Emmy's Garden. The first in a series of NEW whimsical gardens I spent the entire summer working on....and I haven't been able to stop ever since.

I spent the first half of 2018 doing back to back to back commissions (for which I am abundantly grateful). Then, I kinda went a little crazy and started painting these large(er) floral paintings that have been stuck inside my head for months.

A loose background of acrylic and ink sets the stage for all different shapes of blossoms that emerge from the abstract type of backdrop. Then, I add a bit of oil pastel or wax pastel to make everything bloom.

I've been on a mission since the middle of the year to strictly focus my brand on ART FOR GIRLS...of all ages. Sorry little boys. No disrespect, but when you're a girly girl such as myself well, you gotta do your thing. And my "thing" is whimsical, cute and pretty art just for GIRLS.

every night he gathers by his most favorite toadstool under a sky of polka dot stars. Magically, the leaves begin to play the most peaceful of melodies that lull little Lionel into the sweetest of sleeps.

I loved working on these mixed media animals over the summer. I also have an owl named Otus available here and two others I worked on last summer (an adorable bear and another owl). These are so much fun and I'm hoping to maybe work on some arctic animals this coming January...because we all know how much I LOVE WINTER!!!

Little Otus...with an ostentatious screech here and there, he manages to assemble quite the composition. So much so, it makes the flowers bloom...even at night. PRINTS are available and the ORIGINAL PAINTING IS ALSO AVAILABLE. Contact me if interested.

I worked on this little guy over the summer along with a baby fox (available next month in my etsy shop). Had such a blast making a couple of mixed media animals last summer, that I carved out some time to do a couple more this summer. These are so much fun and allow me to use the wide range of art supplies I have (and I still never manage to use them all-I mean one can NEVER have too many art supplies. just sayin'). Everything from my beloved acrylic paints to scrapbook papers, sheet music, oil pastels, palette knife, inks...and the list goes on. Looking forward to sharing the fox in November. Speaking of November....

it's one step closer to (wait for it, wait for it)...WINTER!! And oh how I have MAD LOVE for winter. I mean someone has to, right? Well, that someone is ME! :) On my easel right now is a winter themed painting featuring snowdrops (I so love the delicate beauty of those flowers). Here's a peek...

every year i try to pay homage to my most favorite season of all (WINTER) with a painting or drawing. this year, i thought i'd create a whimsical self portrait of sorts because who loves winter more than this big brown eyed girl?! some cute little snow bunnies, perhaps....:)

the sweetest lady came to me requesting a custom painting based on one of my drawings (pic below). it was to be for her ginger haired, december born baby girl. they were redoing her room based on a few prints of my drawings that she purchased (yeah, that happened-a room redo based on MY drawings-huh?!)

between a cute little bird and a wide eyed baby bear...an "autumn serenade".

this is the second (but it sure won't be the last) piece i created this summer when i was trying my hand at mixed media. can i just tell you what a total blast it was creating this piece?! so much fun and a bit out of the box for me as i am a SUPER DUPER AWESOME planner. seriously. it's one of my finer traits....i think so, anyway. ;) this little creation was kind of spontaneous....kind of....

i knew i wanted to do a bear with an autumn color scheme. the rest just kind of happened the more i kept adding different layers, different supplies...and, being my absolute own worst critic well, i'm rather pleased with the way it turned out. i mean, c'mon..look at the face on the baby bear...you just gotta love him. :)

let me start by saying i always consider any/every commission a blessing but when they are back to back really kind wonderful clients, well that just makes the "blessing" so much sweeter.

a couple of weeks ago the sweetest lady came to me wanting to completely redo her daughter's bedroom based on a few of my drawings (really?! this is really my life?! hashtag-blessed) and wanted this particular drawing turned into a painting because it looks smooch like her adorable little girl who happens to be a "budding artist" herself. i wound up selling her some prints and taking on this commission...painting her ginger haired, december born baby girl (ginger...winter...december...three of my favorite things....destiny, indeed). 

this is and always has been (and always will be) my philosophy...treat your customers like friends, make personal connections with them and they will come back to you time and time again. always staying true to myself...
