Little Lionel...

lionel's lullaby tree
6x6, mixed media on canvas panel

every night he gathers by his most favorite toadstool under a sky of polka dot stars. Magically, the leaves begin to play the most peaceful of melodies that lull little Lionel into the sweetest of sleeps.

Lionel's Lullaby Tree. NEW ART PRINT FOR SALE HERE!! I also have the ORIGINAL PAINTING AVAILABLE. Contact me if interested.

I loved working on these mixed media animals over the summer. I also have an owl named Otus available here and two others I worked on last summer (an adorable bear and another owl). These are so much fun and I'm hoping to maybe work on some arctic animals this coming January...because we all know how much I LOVE WINTER!!!

a bit of a challenge....

custom painting for collin
11x14 acrylic on canvas
©the enchanted easel 2016
this last commission was for me. i don't usually paint in silhouette nor do i pant graphically (for a lack of a better word). however, when the client gives you carte blanche, well life is a whole lot easier. :)

below are the reference photos i was given, my sketch and the finished painting is above.

{i think i did ok....never met a challenge i didn't like. ;)}

these three paintings, 8x10, 9x12, 8x10, were a commission from a sweet grandma wanting some initial panels to hang above her grandson's crib. below are a few pics of the nursery...and my spin on creating something special for baby, Turner.

please email me at enchanted easel@yahoo.com if you'd like something special created for your little one.

here's wishing you all the luck of the irish today....even if there's not a lick of irish in you. ;)

thea and her wishing tree

i have had this painting done for about a month now, but i wanted to wait until closer to march and st. paddy's day to list it FOR SALE AS A PRINT HERE:

it was inspired by a friend of mine's little girl (named thea) who was born on st. paddy's day. is she irish? heck NO! 110% polish as a matter of fact;) and she is actually blonde, but i wanted to paint a cute little red head, so.....
besides, who says leprechauns always have to be boys ;)

speaking of "red heads", i'm working on November's mermaid this week, little Citrine. not exactly a red head, but close enough.

check back for pics.....

a little luck of the irish....

in january...;)

i have been working on this illo/painting for the past few days. it was inspired by a dear friend of mine's daughter, born on st. patty's day. the ironic thing...she's about 110% POLISH! go figure...;)

i just thought a little irish whimsy would be fun. for the sake of the illo, i decided to make her hair a strawberry blonde color...kinda like macaroni and cheese (and how could THAT be bad....)!

i'm just about done and will be listing it FOR SALE as a PRINT sometime in early february.

hey, who says leprechauns are always boys...?!;)

~happy valentine's day~

just a sweet little sketch/drawing to honor cupid and my favorite day (pathetic, i know). ANYWAY, i am totally crazy about these tinted graphite pencils from derwent
http://www.pencils.co.uk/product.aspx?mid=733
they are just fabulous! i used them for the whole drawing-dry on the branch, leaves and little hearts and wet for the adorable little love birds:)oh, and a touch of ink on the branch as well.
happy hearts day!:)

yes, i do fine arts too...

here is something a little different (from my children's art). i just finished it and wanted to post it here...until i get the time to put another blog together for my fine arts. i am trained in fine arts so this is another side of me that i love just as much as my children's art. i thank God for the ability to do both and consider myself extremely blessed!
this is entitled "whispering amongst the tree...the melodious song of love". and no, it's not for sale (sorry). it is done on 2 16x20 canvases and uses acrylics as well as collage material. i had lots of fun using a palette knife to paint the tree:) i hope to be able to do more fine arts in 2011...that i will be selling.
stay tuned for yet another blog devoted just to my fine arts...
