the first in a series of three summer/flower girls i will be releasing FOR SALE this summer.

*NOTE~this is an ORIGINAL DRAWING not a print. i will not be selling prints until the original drawing is sold. you can find here FOR SALE here.

also, in my etsy shop, i have three winter girls (ORIGINAL DRAWINGS) available. try not to be biased but they are my favorite. well of course they are, they represent WINTER...one of my obsessions (because God knows i have a few of those...;) )

ok, back to business.....i have also added share buttons to the images here in my blog. i have been trying to add pinterest buttons to the gallery images on my site but due to the format (carousel) i have the images displayed in, well that's the only format in which the pinterest buttons do not want to play nice. kind of stuck on the carousel format so i apologize for the lack of ease in sharing any images you may love on my site onto your pinterest pages. please feel free to share from my blog here though...if the mood strikes you. always remember, ALL of my images belong solely to ME. NONE of them are to be reproduced by anyone but myself. i see lots of artists have their hard work taken by others unknowingly and popping up all over the internet without consent/permission. so wrong but don't get me started....

so now that Flora has made her little debut this first full week of summer (thank you God for the gift of air conditioning....) her lovely little friends, Camillia and Blossom will be following...soon! :)

trick or treat, love pippa...and licorice :)

welcoming in fall is my sweet little character pippa...and her black bird friend licorice. pippa (who we all know is really ME-hence the uggs she usually has on) is dressed in her pumpkin costume and ready to hand out candy to all the little trick or treaters at the pumpkin patch. with the help of licorice, of course....;)

i wanted to do a painting of this, but time does not really allow for it. so...i took out my favorite *tools*...the tinted graphite pencils by derwent. OMG....i am so in love with these pencils. it's ironic because i seem to be known for (for a lack of a better phrase) for my use of bright and bold color in my paintings. yet, i am totally crazy about the look of tinted graphite. and, i'm truly a pencil girl at heart so these pencils really make me happy. AND...they are water soluble as well, so i often use a water brush pen (like a did here) filled with clear water and very gently add some water to the drawing and....POOF....magic!:)

anyway, not that i have gone off on my tangent about these pencils, i want to say that pippa here is available FOR SALE as a LIMITED EDITION print in my etsy shop found here

ok, so technically i'm a day late, BUT autumn is ALWAYS welcome ANYTIME!:)
GOOD RIDDENS TO SUMMER!!!!

now....that means i am one season closer to my FAVORITE...WINTER....;)

ahhh....winter, how i miss you so!

i just realized i forgot to post this sketch from a week ago. oops....

well, as we all know, i have a *thing* for WINTER! yes, people, i said WINTER! to be quite honest, it's more than a *thing*. i'm madly in love with the season and all of it's pristine beauty. i could on and on and on....but i'll spare everyone the details of this life-long love affair...;)

so, i had this *scene* in my head for a bit of a time, of a raven haired girl named wimberly (awesome name right? i have to name EVERYTHING. don't ask me why....) ANYWAY....i have always loved white birch trees, cardinals, and....(wait for it....wait for it...) SNOW!!!

i'm so excited to be working LARGE again at my easel (the *enchanted easel*). this beauty stands 24" high and 18" wide and i am having the best time painting her. down below is a pic in progress. i'm balancing this with a few other custom orders, so she may not be done right away, but she will be done! then, she will be FOR SALE as an ORIGINAL piece of art.

i'm loving my cool themed color scheme here....from steel blues and grays to white and ivorys with the only pop of color coming from the adorable red cardinals and the raven black of wimberly's hair.

...because in nicole's world, it's WINTER EVERYDAY!:)

today is the first official day of WINTER...and i couldn't be any happier about that!:) it truly is my favorite season! now if i could just get some SNOW....
