the wistful ones

my latest painting, entitled "the wistful ones" is now FOR SALE as a REPRODUCTION in my shop.

the second painting in my *new* style. had planned on having this done a couple of weeks ago, in time for valentine's day, but mother nature and some winter storms had other plans (power outages and no heat mean no painting). but, better late than never.

besides, who could turn down a sweet little baby polar bear with such a "wistful" look of love in his eyes...? ;)

"the wistful ones"

this lovely little piece of cuteness was slated for a release this past friday, february 7. that was my plan anyway...until a fierce ice storm rolled through here and left most of chester county without power...and without heat. really tough to paint with gloves on (although let it be known that i surely did try). i so wanted this to be for sale for valentine's day, but mother nature had other plans. :(

been working on it as much as i can (obviously it won't be done in time for hearts day this friday) as well as working on some other things for a donation for a sick friend from high school. as well as working on another painting for a sick friend from high school. will always put my own work aside to help anyone in need as much as i possibly can....even if it's just donating some art for a good cause.

hoping to have this piece done in a week or two. providing mother nature cooperates, that is...(from my mouth to God's ears!)

painting tall, tall trees...

white birch trees, my favorite. (details of a much larger piece)

it's been a while since my last post because i've been working on some new pieces/sketches/paintings for 2014. new year means NEW STUFF! so excited to be able to "evolve" some more, as i'm a big believer in ALWAYS trying to better yourself, be it professionally and/or personally. so, with that being said...

so looking forward to a new year and a new start. 2013 definitely wasn't one of my better years (as april bought about a third neck fusion-NOT FUN and not a lot of painting...boo-hoo:( ) but, i've never been one to dwell on negative. taking some lessons learned and moving forward to be the best little artist i can be! :)

bye bye 2013...HELLO 2014!!! :)

it's a tea (with milk) and cookies kind of day;)

ok...this could be one of my new favorites:) this is a sketch for a comissioned piece for the cousin of the little girl's room i just finished up last week-isabelle.

thank so much to liz for asking me to now adorn her niece's room with my work. i am beyond excited to do another piece for this wonderful family!:)
*a few background notes about this piece-mailee loves loves loves cows! her room is pink and brown AND they used to live in washington d.c.*
so i couldn't resist the cherry blossom trees (which are my favorite) and a sweet little pink and brown stuffed cow. besides, what little girl doesn't absolutely love to have tea parties with her stuffed animals/dolls?! i am super excited to start painting this in the next couple of days...:)
