as i stated earlier in the week, i'm trying to work on selling (or shall i say "parting with") some ORIGINAL artwork. and i thought i great way to do that would be to "part with" some sketches/drawings right out of one of my sketchbooks. and, i have many of those...;)

are you wondering how this fits into the illustration friday theme of "stir"? well..."s" is for stir! AND i couldn't resist the cuteness of the elephant...sorry;)

jungle love~mommy and baby...ALL FINISHED!:)

i am so happy that this piece is all done for alexis and baby carter! actually i had it done last week, but i needed to add the quote and am waiting on the lovely walnut wood frame i ordered (i thought it would really pick up the brown tones in the giraffes).
it is the first time i based a painting on a quote. see the story here (and an precious pic of little carter and his mommy)http://http://theenchantedeasel.blogspot.com/2011/01/jungle-lovemommy-and-baby.html
for the quote, i printed it out on vellum, painted the back of the vellum with a white acrylic paint...sort of like a cloud effect. then, i spray mounted it down to the painting and put a thin wash of light blue acrylic paint on top of it in certain areas. all i have left to do is mat and frame:)
