A Busy May!!

May proved to be a very busy month and happily so. 😊

Started working on a new series of cute little Chinese girls when another commission came my way a couple of weeks ago. That along with packing some pendants to ship out to a few customers was also another highlight. Thanks so much to Jewelry Affaire magazine for featuring my pendant necklaces in their Spring 2018 issue. Still so grateful for the exposure.

SO HUMBLED!!

MY PENDANT NECKLACES ARE FEATURED IN THE SPRING 2018 ISSUE OF JEWELRY AFFAIRE MAGAZINE!!  

Still can't believe this is real! Humbled, grateful, thankful a handful go other words that escape me at the time. I was happy just to be considered when one of the editors approached me on Etsy back in November when I listed some of these necklaces. Then, in December, I got the email stating that I had been chosen to be featured in a DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD and was to write a technique article to go along with the pendants which were to be photographed by an in house photographer. I cried tears of joy for days. And now, here we are, April 2nd and the magazine is in Barnes and Noble with my little pendants featured on pages 20-21. Unreal. Surreal. Just wow. I am so abundantly grateful for the exposure and opportunity. Thank you to everyone over at Stampington Co. for this sweet little victory of mine. They put out some really fantastic magazines, by the way.

Sleeping puppies and pink rose mountains...

Truth be told. I don't usually share my sketches for commissions until after they are complete paintings. I'm a little superstitious like that. However, it was a request from a friend of mine on Facebook who commissioned me to do a special painting for her daughter's Sweet 16. She wanted to "share" it so I obliged. Helped me conquer my little superstitious fear along the way so I was all for it. 

Puppies, pink roses, blonde hair and brown eyes were the only must haves in the painting. My mind goes right to sleeping puppies on a dress made of rose petals amid large pink rose mountains in the background. Add some whimsical vines and rosebuds (which I have since added to the sketch) and Emily's 16th birthday painting is on it's way to the canvas.

They LOVED the sketch so I will be happily be working on this painting for the next few weeks. Larger scale at 12x16 but I'm super stoked for it.

NEW PENDANT NECKLACES!!

I have been working on these sweet little pendant necklaces for the last few weeks and am so happy to finally be able to share them with you. They are FOR SALE in my Etsy shop...just in time for holiday shopping! I have 9 different designs available. If you would like one custom made for you in a different metal finish (antique bronze, antique copper and antique silver are the choices), please contact me and I will do my very best to accommodate you.

I had made a few of these sweeties last year in only the oval shape and once they sold out, I decided to try some more of a variety with the rectangles and squares and with the addition of a cute little matching flower charm (because let's face it, mostly all of my latest paintings include flowers...and I'm perfectly okay with that). I thought the charm was a lovely addition.

Each one of these are entirely HAND CRAFTED by yours truly...from the necklace cards they are placed on (designed by me and printed by Vistaprint) to the tiny little bows tied by my arthtic right hand and I tied....my "little labors of love".  I hope you love them as much as I do.
